Imran Masih was brutally murdered in Faisalabad on 31st May 2026 after a Muslim friend allegedly entered his home during the night and attacked him with a knife.
His nephews, Arbaz Masih and Akash Masih, were seriously injured while trying to save him from the assault.
The British Asian Christian Association has visited the grieving family, provided financial assistance, and supported the injured survivors during medical treatment.
The devastated family now faces mounting medical expenses, loss of income, and ongoing hardship as police continue searching for the suspect.
Brutal Late-Night Attack
According to the family, the attack took place around 2:00 am on 31st May.
Muhammad Kashif allegedly climbed over the wall of the family home using a ladder before secretly entering the property while Imran Masih (45 yrs) slept in the veranda after returning from a long day of work.
The attacker reportedly assaulted Imran with a butcher’s knife, repeatedly stabbing him in the chest and abdomen. Imran succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Hearing the commotion, Imran’s nephews — Arbaz Masih (25 yrs) and Akash Masih (17 yrs) — rushed to rescue their uncle but were also brutally attacked.
Akash suffered severe injuries to his abdomen and right hand after the knife reportedly severed veins in his arm, while Arbaz sustained injuries to his neck.
Both injured men were rushed to Allied Hospital Faisalabad for emergency medical treatment.

A Friendship Ending in Tragedy
On 2nd June, a BACA team visited the bereaved family to offer condolences and practical support.
Mehmood Masih shared details of the tragedy, explaining that Imran Masih and Muhammad Kashif had been lifelong friends and shared a close brotherly relationship.
Imran worked as a wall painter, while Kashif was reportedly employed by Pakistan Railways.
The family remains uncertain about the exact motive behind the murder, although Mehmood revealed that Imran had previously provided approximately Rs.800,000 (£2,153) connected to the purchase of land, which may have contributed to the dispute.
“We believe only the police investigation will reveal the motive behind the brutal murder of my brother.”
He described Imran as a hardworking and caring man who financially supported vulnerable family members.
“He was a noble person. He was very hard working and the breadwinner for my sick sister and her children.”
Imran Masih’s father and brother continue to seek strength and justice after the devastating tragedy.
Police Investigation Underway
Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR No. 811/26) under sections 302 and 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
However, the accused, Muhammad Kashif, reportedly fled the area following the attack and remains at large.
Imran Masih was buried on 1st June in a local graveyard under police security due to concerns surrounding the case.

On 5th June, a BACA team revisited the family and met Akash Masih at Allied Hospital Faisalabad, praying for his recovery and offering financial assistance to help the family cope with mounting medical and household expenses.

Food expenses during hospital stays
Emergency household support
This tragedy has devastated an already struggling family.
Akash worked as a sweeper for Sutra Punjab, while Arbaz was employed at a private clothing shop. Both were the primary earning members of the household. Following the attack, both young men are now injured and unable to work.
At home, the family must also care for their elderly mother, who suffers from chronic illness, as well as a younger sister who depends entirely on them for support.
The family now faces overwhelming challenges including:

In addition, each of his nephews will need £100 per month for two months to help cover lost earnings while they recover from their injuries and the trauma they have endured.
