Leighton Medley our BPCA Outreach Minister has returned to Pakistan to reach new communities with the true Gospel of Christ and to continue discipling those who have been already been reached through our previous campaigns.

Leighton’s remit for this work is quite simple, he is to bolster the faith of Christians who have little access to regular church services setting up bible study leaders who will one day become ministers of the Gospel in rural communities, he is to bring revival and better understanding to larger Christian churches in Pakistan many of which have adopted a very legalistic theology and have forgotten the need for repentance, faith in Christ and the need to place our trust in Him.

Leighton has also been reaching out to Muslims and we hope that soon his work will provide a dividend by bringing others to the family of God.

He has been having great success with many believers expressing revival, churchgoers committing their lives to Christ, and Muslims taking an interest in the Gospel though yet to commit to Christ. We hope with further donations to make Leighton’s role a permanent one in a years time. For this we will need the help and support of those who was to see Christ’s gospel flourishing in Pakistan and seek you help to finance this important ministry. One of our costs is the purchase of bibles at £4 each. If you would like to help please donate by clicking (here).

Below is one of Leighton’s recent accounts during a meeting with Muslim Converts:

Here was a ground-breaking meeting, for in the blue I ask you to meet David, that is not his real name. He has committed his life to the way and has been immersed. He is a welder by trade, and he is married with 6 children.

I urge you to pray for him and the safety of his family, his brother is in the Taliban which means his situation is very difficult. His business has suffered and people in his area are now asking questions, as to why he is not attending prayer. He is full of the joy of the Lord and it was a pleasure and also very humbling to meet him. You see, to commit your future to the Lord here is a matter of life and death and if it gets out, Daud will most certainly lose his life very quickly. Pray for his well being, pray we can help him.

In the second picture, on the far right meet Waris, again not his real name. He is from Afghanistan, a member of the Hazara tribe of Persian extraction. He is a miner, he too has chosen to follow the Lord. Amazingly, he speaks a bit of English and he has shared how through social media, he met a teacher who led him to the Lord, although he was always interested anyway, in following the way from stories he had heard. What’s interesting about Waris, is that he knows others from Afghanistan and Western Pakistan who are interested in the way and want to follow the Lord.

We must pray for these men, they are in harms way, and they are putting their lives on the line. There are many secret believers across this region, many who are tired of oppression and ritualistic, works based religion. Many who are tired of superstition and judgment and want freedom. Freedom through grace, to live in grace, do let us stand with these brave men and follow the way with them.

Brother Leighton
