Family of Nouman Masih (RIP) speak of the great solace they have knowing he is in heaven in a place without intolerance and free of pain.

BPCA Pakistan lead officer Mehwish Bhatti prays with the family of Nouman Masih.

Today British Pakistani Christian Association Lead Pakistan Officer Mehwish Bhatti met with the family of deceased teenager Nouman Masih (RIP).  The
unfortunate 15 year old was set alight after being doused in kerosene by Muslim youths in Pakistan after he admitted he was Christian, when questioned.

By a miracle he survived the initial attack despite being treated at Mayo Hospital without a special burns unit.  However, after five days and plastic
surgery – treatment despite his health vulnerability – he passed away on Friday.

Mehwish Bhatti met his paternal uncle’s wife, her daughter, and the sister of Nouman Masih, Sabha today to counsel them, share God’s word and pray with
the family.

The family described how they gained solace knowing Nouman was now with Christ and was free from the intolerance and the debilitating pain the violent
thugs had left him suffering with.

Mehwish described her encounter with Sabha the sister of Nouman as a moment of great wonderment. Sabha surprised Mehwish with her depth of scriptural
knowledge and spiritual awareness.  Mehwish should know as she runs an on-line ministry that reaches out to nominal Christians and unbelievers.

Before leaving Mehwish gifted the aunt of Sabha with 30,000 Pak-rupees.  An amount equivalent to that spent by the family of Nouman Masih on his
funeral, that included huge food expenses following over 1000 visitors to the ceremony.

Sadly a few Christians in Pakistan have believed the lie in Pakistani media that Nouman Masih was killed by family members, a similar attempt was
made by the Pak-media in the aftermath of the death of Shahbaz Bhatti.  Such brainwashing tactics seem to work only on the Christian elite in Pakistan, who
often through compromise with Muslims in order to live safely in the more wealthy Muslim areas, start to immerse themselves in the propoganda.  The
real shame of this is that these educated more financially secure then choose to ostracise themselves from the poorer Christian classes in an attempt to
be absorbed into Muslim mainstream society, when they should be protecting our suffering family.  The BPCA will continue to shine a light on the truth
as we campaign to bring peace and prosperity to a hapless community bereft of a voice.

We interviewed Nouman Masih before he died as did another group.  In both videos Nouman Masih clearly described the following points:

See interview with Nouman Masih (click here)

  • Nouman was noticed by the attackers as he was the only person on the streets during Jummah prayers.
  • The gunmen asked him what he was doing out during this time and then what his faith was.
  • When he told them he was Christian they started abusing him and slapped him four times.
  • One attacker then poured kerosene over him and the other then lit a match and threw it at him.

Nouman spoke candidly to our officer (off camera), he said:

“I have no enmity with the boys and I forgive them.  However  for the protection of other Christians I want the men to be brought to justice, so that no-one else would suffer the same pain that I have.”

This remarkable young boy still thought about others despite his pain and suffering and we at the BPCA believe his martyrdom is made special because of
it.  We had no idea Nouman would die and most of us believed he would recover. On the advice of doctors it was almost a certainty. We have all been
shocked by his loss of life and I ask that you pray for the BPCA team who have all been demoralised by the passing away of beautiful Nouman.
