Inflamed for God!

Qaisor Pervaiz’s survived against the odds after receiving 85% burns and shattering numerous bones in his body. He was prepared to sacrifice his own life
to save hundreds more during the Lahore bomb attack. This is the stuff of dreams or nightmares, depending on your perspective.

This miracle is made even more significant when you understand that Lahore GeneralHospital does not have a special burns unit and that when they threatened
to turn off his life support machines the family did not have the money for or time to argue. For good measure I will also remind you that he was pronounced
dead and was resuscitated. By all intents and purposes he should be dead by now. With the help of God and the intervention of the BPCA through the
support our faithful donors, we have seen God transform the lives of this family. Learn more about Qaisor (click here).

Knocking on death’s door Qaisor was brought back by God.

At one point due to his injuries Qaisor was completely bed-ridden. Now he can walk again. He did not have the strength to feed himself but now is recovering
well. Qaisor lost his employment due to inability to work and his family faced destitution but BPCA have supported over the last year; paying his rent,
giving money for food, school fees for his eldest child and ongoing medical costs including skin grafts that have restored his confidence.

Our funding was to be limited to one year. However we wanted to ensure that after we left, the family had a way to sustain themselves. With this in
mind Qaisor was one of the very first participants in our Business Entrepreneurial Skills workshops. He passed successfully and with some help from
Mehwish was able to apply for a start-up loan for purchase of a rickshaw. The new vehicle should help him to gain a steady wage working hours that
allow him to continue to take the necessary additional breaks his body needs to aid further recovery. Moreover his pay scale should eventually rise
to a level much higher then his previous job as factory engineer.

On 1st March 2105, we purchased the new vehicle which requires a petrol conversion that will be completed in two weeks. The vehicle will display a
banner with the scripture:

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4

Qaisor intends to share his testimony in churches to encourage Christians and to help galvanise support for his business. Mehwish our lead officer
will be coordinating with churches to help facilitate this. Qaisor said:

“God brought me back from death like Lazarus. He has given me the chance to see my children grow up and grow old with Samina. God made a way when my future seemed bleak and I will praise his name for ever. He has shown me that He is always with us and that His love has no bounds.”

When we first found the family, they could not even afford to send their eldest child to school. Young Sitaish is now at school and is doing remarkably
well. Teachers have described extremely good progress and a huge burden has been lifted off the shoulders of an ailing family. We asked mother Samina
about the progress of Sitaish at school and she said:

“Sitaish is enjoying regular attendance at school. She is extremely happy and has been concentrating well in her lessons. Her teachers tell me she is a bright student and I have noticed her teaching her younger brother Cornelius things she has learnt at school. When we could not afford to send her to school she was very disheartened and asked why her friends were going but she was not. Now her confidence encourages me.”
