The actions of kingdom love

Leighton Medley our BPCA Outreach Minister has returned to Pakistan to reach new communities with the true Gospel of Christ and to continue discipling
those who have already been reached through our previous campaigns. Leighton’s remit for this work is quite simple, he is to bolster the faith of Christians
who have little access to regular church services, setting up bible study leaders who will one day become ministers of the Gospel in rural communities.
He is to bring revival and better understanding to Christian churches in Pakistan many of which have adopted a very legalistic theology and have forgotten
the need for repentance, faith in Christ and the need to place our trust in Him. Leighton has also been reaching out to Muslims and we hope that soon
his work will provide a dividend by bringing others to the family of God.

He has been having great success with many believers expressing revival, churchgoers committing their lives to Christ, and Muslims taking an interest in the Gospel though yet to commit to Christ. We hope with further donations to make Leighton’s role a permanent one in two years time. For this we will need the help and support of those who was to see Christ’s gospel flourishing in Pakistan and seek you help to finance this important ministry. One of our costs is the purchase of bibles at £4 each. If you would like to help please donate by clicking (here).

Below is one of Leighton’s recent accounts of a trip to Sialkot:

On the 17th October, we visited Sialkot Bible School, located in Sialkot which is about 2 hours away from Lahore. This is a Pentecostal Establishment,
which is entirely self supporting and has some very good and interesting items for supporting Christians in their walk with God. For the Pastor, Mark
Henry, (not the WWE Wrestler), has created his own bible reading program, enabling those who can to read the bible in one year. Also, he has some very
good audio bibles, which can be readily used in those villages where people are illiterate. He also has something called, the bible in 3 minutes, where
he basically tells the story of the Bible in 3 minutes, to anyone who is not saved. It is an evangelistic tool basically, for them to use in their
evangelism towards the unsaved.

I am quite impressed, they certainly are thinking ahead, and as they are self supporting, means they are not constantly looking for donors. As far
as preaching goes, we do 2 teachings, both from Luke 6:27-36 on Kingdom love, where we essentially look at firstly, the commands of Kingdom Love, to
be followed by the actions of Kingdom love.

We are to love our enemies and this is very hard in the natural world, for those who live in the world, this is something they cannot comprehend. It
takes supernatural love for someone to love their enemies, only the type of love that comes from Jesus. This I believe, when we speak blessing into
our enemies lives, is evangelistic love, when we “bless those who curse us,” and “pray for those who ill treat us.” (Luke 6:28) When people see this
type of love in action, they are more inclined to listen to the Gospel call and I am not talking about altar calls, I’m talking about action speaking
louder than words.

The first half does go better than the first, mainly because of translation. Brother Shahan does a great job in the first part and people understand
well what we are speaking and take notes. Pastor Mark took over in the second half, but I think struggled a little and we had to repeat things a few
times, but it was OK. This is a strong community whose future looks bright, Pastor Mark has done well in his planning and there is a hunger for the
Word here. My prayer is, that they will not rest on their laurels, but will continue on pushing out the boundaries of their excellent work. All glory
to God I say and we hope to see them again soon.
