Christian who evaded Blasphemy Law imprisonment caught after a week on the run!

Police in Lahore have re-arrested a Christian man (21st November), Qaiser Ayub, 40, over an alleged act of blasphemy. This comes shortly after Pakistan’s Christian community come to terms with the November 4th, burning to death of Christian couple Shama and Shahzad in Kot Radha Kishan, Punjab.

Qaiser Ayub, was first arrested June 9th 2011, and went into hiding after the complaint was first made. A Mohammad Saeed, filed the initial complaint in city Police Station against the accused and the case was registered under a First Investigation Report – FIR no. 105/11 under section 295-C in PS. Talagan, Distt. Chakwal. 

Mr Ayub, a Christian, and well known blogger, was alleged to have used derogatory language aswell as sketches against Muhammed in his blogs


Qaiser Ayub is currently held in prison. A scource suggested that Police are trying to keep Mr Ayub’s detention as low profile as possible.



According to Sohail Johnson, chairman of Sharing Life Ministry Pakistan – SLMP are currently taking care of Qaiser’s wife and children, and will arrange legal reprsentation.



Jabbar Hussian – SP Rawalpindi, is appointed to investigate the case, sources confirmed.
