Revival ministry in Pakistan reveals church corruption – A child's song provides a glimmer of hope.

What can I say, ministry is tough and here in Pakistan you see the good, the bad and the ugly. Although the Lord has graciously inspired me in my preaching,
I feel that most people have never heard an expository sermon before and have no idea of good biblical doctrine. Last week I began a worldview class,
which went surprisingly well, the young people seemed to take to it, as I tried to show using the bible, the doctrine of creation, plus just giving
an overview of other worldviews at variance with ours. My second class is on Friday, where we will be looking at the doctrine of original sin, my prayer
is that God will guide me and that this won't go too above their heads.

In general Pana and I are fine, though the poor Christians are exploited here, not least by their own. The amount of organisations here, that are just
after money is really quite unbelievable. The fact has hit home hard, that the Christians here, are really not that different from their Muslim cousins,
in fact sadly sometimes worse. The case of the children of Shazad and Shama Masih, is a point in question, where their grandfather won custody of them
only so he could receive government money, in order to better his own living standards. They are neither cared for, bathed or clothed properly, only
a BPCA nanny has access to them but within his limitations, he is so paranoid that he refuses anyone else apart from Mehwish access to them, their
future as it stands is no future. Please pray for these poor children, who not only lost their parents 2 years ago, in a tragic lynching and burning
alive, they are now faced with a lifetime of poverty, at the hands of an unscrupulous relative who calls himself a Christian.

We had our first outreach yesterday at Rukahwala, it went well and God really blessed the meeting. I preached a simple from Acts 2:31-36, on the subject
of what is a Christian. Mehwish translated well, because I did think much would go over their heads, but here's a remarkable thing, a little girl of
6 years old, came and sang a song, of how she was bad, how she was evil, and yet Jesus saved her, of how she said sorry and she was forgiven. Extraordinary,
she summed my sermon in one simple song, that's how it works here, people have a simple faith, but powerful and I praise the Lord for his goodness.

We presented gifts to the children and some of the people, where one woman said she liked what peter said about baptism, I think she is looking to get
baptised and have her family taking the plunge also. We gave the community a meal, just some simple biryani, but the atmosphere was good, and the people
were generally grateful for our presence. I have been given an Urdu/English New Testament by one of the local pastors, I shall try to incorporate this
into my studies after my graduation next year.

But you see the exploitation though, I saw a banner promoting a pastor from London whom I'd never heard of before, only to be told it was an Internet meeting
and people had to pay for it. I'm sorry but that to me is a cop out and exploitive to say the least. These people deserve better than that, which is
why it is a privilege to help Wilson Chowdhry and the BPCA, they are trying to give these people real ministry and education along the way, I praise
the Lord for that organisation.

The rest of the week is panned out for more out reaches and visits, we will see the land in Kasur for the school, plus I have one seminar in Raj Garh on
the prodigal son. Please pray for us, we do miss our family at hope, it is a different world here, but there's nothing like doing the lords' work,
it is a real privilege and honour. I pray all are well in Huddersfield, give our love to everyone, we look forward to seeing you next weekend when
we return, may God bless you all richly in Christ.

Prayer points :

The 3 orphans, Solomon who is showing signs of PTSD, Sonia and Poonam.
An end to the exploitation of the poorer communities not just by their fellow Christians but also by those in the west.
Pray for better bible teaching, many here have never heard an expository sermon before.
For more bibles those in poorer communities who don't have one
For the school at Kasur and potential church plant to be developedso that the children can be developed with an education not only mainstream but in the bible also.
Pray for unity, many Christians too many are in competition with one another fuelling the exploitation of others, leading to the breakdown of communities.
Pray that their world view would be altered to a more Christian and biblical one, and not based on secular values.
