In the rural village of Alam Choudhary in Sindh, life has taken a remarkable turn—thanks to a simple yet life-changing act of compassion. On June 12, 2025, BACA (British Asian Christian Association) installed a water pump in the heart of the village, bringing clean, accessible water directly to the homes of dozens of families.

Earlier this year, in May 2025, the Hindu and Christian residents of Alam Choudhary reached out to BACA through our dedicated volunteer, Evangelist Daniyal Masih. They shared the daily hardship faced by women and children who were forced to walk nearly 4 kilometers every day—twice—to a solitary, distant water source located by a graveyard.
Mitho Masih, a local Christian community member, described the grim journey: “The road was full of dangers—stray dogs, venomous insects, snakes, and sometimes wandering men. Our women carried the burden of bringing water for the entire family, often at the cost of their safety and health.”

When we heard their plea, BACA responded without delay. Evangelist Daniyal travelled 45 kilometers to oversee the installation of the water pump in Alam Choudhary. What was once a village battling water scarcity is now a place of restored dignity, health, and hope.
The impact has been transformative. The women of the village can now wash clothes, bathe children, clean their homes, and drink clean water—without fear or exhaustion. The time and energy once consumed by the water-fetching journey can now be spent on nurturing their families and building stronger community ties.

Ramesh Masih, a grateful villager, shared,
“Our women and children had to travel a kilometre to fetch water, and this journey was dangerous due to snakes and other animals. I am thankful to BACA for providing us clean water. We pray for the BACA and ask God to use BACA for providing clean water wherever it is needed.”
Mitho Masih added,
“I am thankful to BACA for responding to our request and installing a water pump for our community.”
Juliet Chowdhry, Trustee for the British Asian Christian Association, said:
“Access to clean water should never be a privilege—it is a basic human right. The suffering endured by the residents of Alam Choudhary was heartbreaking, and I’m proud that BACA could help restore their dignity and improve their lives in such a meaningful way. We remain committed to ensuring no family has to risk their health or safety just to meet their daily needs.”
At BACA, we believe access to clean water is a basic human right, not a luxury. The installation in Alam Choudhary is more than just a water source—it is a symbol of dignity, health, and hope for a better tomorrow.
We are incredibly grateful to our supporters who make such life-changing projects possible. Your generosity helps us continue to bring clean water, safety, and spiritual care to some of the most marginalized communities in Pakistan.
