In July 2025, heavy monsoon rains caused a home in Christian Colony Raiwind to collapse, killing three members of the same family.
BACA supported the grieving relatives with funeral costs and began rebuilding the destroyed home.
Construction is now underway, offering hope to Aslam Masih, his wife, children, and siblings.

In the early hours of 16th July 2025, tragedy struck the Christian Colony of Raiwind, Lahore. After days of relentless monsoon rains from 13th July, a small family home gave way under the weight of water-soaked, decaying walls and ceiling. Read more (here).
At 4:00 am, three generations of one Christian family lost their lives as the home they were sleeping in collapsed.
The victims were:
Meerab Masih (8) – a young girl full of promise and life.
Nasreen Bibi (60) – her devoted grandmother.
Bashir Masih (100) – her great-grandfather, who had lived a century of faith and resilience.
The British Asian Christian Association (BACA) team visited the devastated family, prayed with them at the funeral, and provided funds for the burials. The three were laid to rest in the local graveyard of Christian Colony Raiwind.
A Family Struggling to Cope
The surviving relatives are led by Aslam Masih (33), the eldest son of Nasreen Bibi and the family’s only breadwinner. Aslam works as a sweeper, earning barely enough to meet daily needs.
When we visited him on 27th July, we shared the news that BACA would help rebuild the collapsed home. Aslam was overcome with relief and gratitude.

Rebuilding Begins – But We Need Your Help
Construction work started on 6th August, delayed only by continuing rains. Our team has ensured a deep foundation with crushed bricks and aggregate to make the structure more resilient to future storms. The footing is complete, and the walls are going up. We hope to finish the home by next week so Aslam can move back in with his wife Shazia (32), sisters Mafia (22) and Chanda (21), sons Arslan (9) and Daniel (1), and daughter Ayema (4).
But we still need your help to cover the full construction costs and ensure this home is safe, secure, and weatherproof.
