On 27th August, torrential rains caused the collapse of a Christian family’s home in Narowal, killing two-year-old Anaya Qaisar and leaving her cousins Shanaya (13) and Abeel (3) seriously injured. Both families, already struggling financially, are now left homeless and scattered across neighbours’ houses. Heavy monsoon rains have devastated the Christian village of Ali Ahmad Khan Mari in Sindh, Pakistan. Families have lost their mud homes and are now surviving in makeshift tents with little food. With fields flooded, daily-wage workers have no income and face hunger, disease, and despair.
