After a series of evenings at our Teenage Chill-out Lounge in Ilford BACA will be organising a Halloween costume party for young people – at their request. In 2018 after one of the largest raids on an asylum seeker condo by Bangkok authorities led to the arrest of Humaira and her children British Asian Christian Association, helped Sumaira and her children escape the brutal Bangkok Immigration Detention Centre. Since then we have been supporting her financially and like many other wives and mothers Humaira is still praying for the release from the IDC of her husband. A peace event to close of Redbridge’s celebration of the London Week of Peace brought joy to families of all diversities as they shopped in Ilford last week at an event organised by the British Pakistani Christian Association. From 24th – 29th September families were able to access a friendship centre where free counselling, drinks and cake were provided by members of High Road Baptist Church and Palm Tree Ministries, the popular stall has helped over 400 local people deal with matters such as ill health, depression, poverty bullying and dark abuses from the past.
