Nissar Hussain, 50, a Christian convert from Islam, was invited to speak to Christians at the Eden Christian Centre, High Road, Ilford about his life and the ongoing challenges and trials he has faced as a Christian. Nissar described how he and his family have lived through the awful experience of persecution simply because they chose to quit Islam. Nissar’s tale is very different from most persecution victims as he was not persecuted in a rogue state, but right here in the UK, where most of us believe the law and our authorities can protect us. Images of the protest have been lost whilst switching this post across from our old website to this new one. Christians from across the UK converged at Bradford Town Centre on Saturday 5th December to show solidarity with Nissar Hussain. Mr Hussain, an Islamic convert was brutally attacked by two men on 17th November for quitting his Islamic faith in favour of Christianity. The masked men beat Mr Hussain with the handle of a pickaxe, and punched and kicked him during the unprovoked attack. The attack left Mr Hussain with severe injuries, he was admitted to hospital for 11…
A multi-faith peace vigil will be held in Bradford city centre this weekend. They will be joined by the Bishop of Bradford, Toby Howarth. Organisers hope the protest will galvanise support from people across the UK concerned about the rise of intolerance and who adhere to a belief that life is precious and should be…
Sign our petition (click here) Nissar Hussain and his family have, to date, faced around 15 years of almost relentless persecution. This has taken many forms including: an arson attack which forced them to relocate; intimidation; a mob gathering outside their house; false accusations against Nissar; threats to the women; assaults; verbal abuse; stones through their living room windows; and countless cars destroyed. Such a campaign of violence and intimidation would naturally lead one to speculate if this family were perhaps particularly antisocial neighbours or leading lives of crime. What could possibly provoke such prolonged local hatred and intolerance? They are…

BPCA highlights causes of violence against Christian converts in the UK As the UK government prepares to record religious hate crimes against Muslims separately due to a massive rise in recorded incidents, some human rights activists are arguing that the government is missing a major phenomenon, possibly due to political correctness. What phenomenon? Religious hate crimes committed by Muslims, especially against those who have converted from Islam, or non-Muslims who are from predominantly Islamic ethnicities. On occasion, this phenomenon has appeared in passing in the national media consciousness and then faded out again. However, these activists say that for many,…
Why was the British Pakistani Christian Association established?BPCA was initiated after the massacre at Gojra in 2009.A mob had been whipped up over a false claim of blasphemy, and they razed to the ground 200 Christian homes and two churches, with 9 people including the bride and groom shot dead at their wedding for allegedly using torn shreds of the Koran as confetti. A lack of media attention and many failures by the government of Pakistan illustrated a need for a voice for a suffering minority. Hence, initially to raise awareness of the situation ofPakistani Christians and to campaign against the…
Nissar Hussain, his wife Kubra and six children have suffered persecution during the past 20 years after converting from Islam to Christianity. They live in Bradford but have endured severe abuse and violence from local Islamists for ‘apostasy’ [changing religion] following their conversion. This persecution has even led to false allegations resulting in the couple being questioned at a police station. One police officer told Mr Hussain to, ‘Stop being a crusader’. Police and local authorities did not give the family appropriate support and the perpetrators of the abuse have not been arrested. (Daily Mail article) The British Pakistan Christian…
